Lukumi People Went to see and hear Osunlade spin a DJ set over the weekend. He played Sea Goddess (Main Mix) and the club losted it. Singing and chanting with some doing the dances to the Òrísá. Osunlade told me the name of the track and who did it, which led me here. Favorite track: Sea Goddess (Main Mix).

about

Introducing Kiko Navarro’s brand new ’Afroterraneo’ label comes exotic, percussion-laden deep gem ‘Sea Goddess’. Dedicated to Yemaya, ocean deity of the Yoruba faith, ‘Sea Goddess’ was inspired by Kiko’s experience of visiting Cuba, where he lost himself in the chants, percussion, dancing and spiritual energy of the island. Characterised by spine-tingling vocals, sparse electronic touches and scintillating live congas by Yoruba Records / BBE artist Gabriele Poso, ‘Sea Goddess’ toys with time signatures, bridging gaps between continents with the universal language of rhythm. As well as the captivating original, Kiko supplies an even deeper dub version which allows the live percussion to take centre stage, plus a ‘beats’ mix which is sure to be a versatile DJ tool.
